  1. (1). What is the correct size and format for the photo I send?
  2. (2). How do I get a photo converted to the correct size?
  3. (3). Do you recommend any type of free converter software?
  4. (4). Is there other places on the web I can go to convert a picture?

1. What is the correct size and format for the photo I send?

The best conditions for a photo is for the dimensions (size) to be 48 pixels by 48 pixels and the format to be .JPG

By sending the above format you save me the time and effort of having to convert each Friend's picture before putting it on the Home Page.

Worse case scenario, if you do not know how to convert the image you have, just send it to me full size and I will take the time converting your picture for you. If you could, please add a gift of a dollar or two or whatever you feel is fair to help a friend.

2. How do I get a photo converted to the correct size?

By far the easiest way to resize and convert an image is to go to Pic Resize 2.0.

Browse your computer for the picture you want to send, click on it and then click open. Your file will be entered on to the website.

Then click "Continue".

In section "1", you can crop or select a part of the picture.

Section "2", Select Custom Size and enter 48 in the Height and Width Boxes and change the menu to Pixels.

In Section "3", at the bottom, make sure you "Save As" JPG and then click "Resize Pic!"

On the next page click on "Click Here to Download/Save As". When the File download box comes up click "Save". Then click "Save" Again when the Window's "Save As" box comes up.

You now have an image you can send. Our friends at PicResize.com take donations for giving you the free image conversion.

3. Do you recommend any type of free converter software?

There may be a number of free methods to convert the size of an image.
One good method is to download the ShutterFly Studio software and use it to convert the image.

Go to ShutterFly Studio. This is a neat little program that makes it easy to convert and modify an image.
After getting to the site you will see this --> Next - Download Software <-- Click it.

Enter your email address and click next. It will bring you to a page that where you can hit "Download Now".

A small window will pop up. You can save or run the software set up. After download, run the program.

At the Top Left click "Get Pictures". Select "Import pictures from a folder already on your PC".

This will put all the pictures in that folder into shutterflySTUDIO. Click on the one you want.

At the bottom click on the edit button. A new screen will come up with a tabbed area on the left.

Click the Refine tab. Then click Resize Picture. Click Pixel Units. Change Width and Height to 48. Remember to Unclick "Maintain aspect Ratio.

On the picture itself click the word "Apply".

Go to the top of the screen open the "File" menu and click "Save As" and in the popup box name it and click save.

There you have it an image the correct size and in .JPG format. Just send it to me.

4. Is there other places on the web I can go to convert a picture?

You can go to MyBlogLog by Clicking Here. Click on the [Join/Sign In] Link at the top of the page and Join MyBlogLog. Then Click Here to use their image size converter that creates a 48 x 48 pixel picture that you can send to me.

There may be other methods to convert images on the internet as well. Check with Google. Type in "Free image converter" or "free image resizing".
